Supplier Quality Project Engineer

Skills Required:
The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for Supplier Quality for the Company.
Will investigate, analyze and resolve supplier quality problems by conducting audits, analyzing defect trends
and leading continuous improvement projects. As an integral member of the Quality team, this position ensures
all supplier quality elements are implemented, compliant, effective, and efficient to meet the current and future
needs of the Company.
Responsible for understanding customer needs and requirements to develop effective supplier quality and
supplier control processes throughout the organization. Responsible for determining system improvement and
implementing change.
Responsibilities
• Ensure that all suppliers used by the organization are selected, evaluated and reevaluated and that records
of this assessment are maintained.
• Monitor, communicate and improve key supply chain KPI’s, including Supplier OTD (on-time delivery), DPPM
(Defective Parts per Million) and waste.
• Actively manage supplier to ensure there are no regressions with the implementation of new processes.
• Support Manufacturing in the evaluation and qualification of new supplier materials following a defined new
product development process.
• Establish specific short and long term supplier quality goals.
• Maintain and update critical supplier audit system and schedule.
• Conduct supplier audits.
• Work with purchasing to ensure supplier performance is regularly reported and that appropriate and timely
corrective actions are implemented. Supplier Quality Problem Resolution Responsibilities
• Investigate, analyze and resolve supplier quality problems by conducting audits, analyzing defect trends and
leading continuous improvement projects.
• Champion problem solving and root cause analysis activities with supplier and customers to eliminate recur-
rence of non-conformances.
• Work to resolve supplier technical issues in a timely manner to ensure continuity of supply.
• Aide in the new, probationary and rejected supplier transition processes.
• Travel to supplier locations to resolve quality problems.
• Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, process and quality sy-
stems.
• Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process and quality system.
• Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels.
• Verify the implementation of solutions. Supplier Quality Improvement Responsibilities
• Strategically lead supplier performance improvement projects in an effort to increase the supplier capability of
consistently meeting the Company’s requirements.
• Lead projects such as process analysis, value stream mapping, process capability and throughput analysis,
6-Signam, 5S and Kaizen events.
• Drive “zero defect’ mentality with the supply base.
• Drive process standardization, waste elimination, and continuous improvement.
• Develop long-term supplier relationships and generate and implement cost reduction ideas Supplier Quality

Education : Bachelors in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering
